Itinerary

Black Hawk
Pass-by Only

Black Hawk was a war chief and leader of the Sauk tribe in the Midwest of the United States. He was known more for being a war leader, a “captain of his actions” than he was a tribal chief. Black Hawk earned his credentials by leading raids and war parties in his youth. Black Hawk is currently Colorado's premier destination for gaming and exciting entertainment.

Central City

The city is a historic mining settlement founded in 1859 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush and came to be known as the "Richest Square Mile on Earth". Central City and the adjacent city of Black Hawk form the federally designated Central City/Black Hawk Historic District.

Nederland

On the way to Nederland, we will stop by the Apex mining camp that quickly grew during its heyday in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It was considered the capitol of the Pine Creek Mining District in the 1800s. Today there are several historic structures remaining in this Gilpin County gem. It’s accessible after the winter snow melts off the roads in the high country, usually around April.
