The best way to experience the city of Salvador, dive into its history, culture, religiosity, and the habits of the people of Bahia, is to combine the Upper City and Lower City tours into one Full Day tour (see also the descriptions of the Upper and Lower City tours). One of my favorite places in the Upper City is the Pelourinho neighborhood, where besides the beauty of the monuments, squares and colonial houses, you can feel the sympathy, energy and joy of the Soteropoletanos - that's how the locals of Salvador are called - who work and live in this lively neighborhood. Maybe you'll be able to experience some action, like Capoeira dancing or a local drum band performing in the streets. You will have the opportunity to lunch in a cozy, local restaurant and taste one of the delicious regional dishes, such as my favorite, the "moqueca", a stew of fish and or seafood prepared in the African way! This tour offers you an unforgettable experience with satisfaction guaranteed!
