Situated at the foot of Signal Hill, on the fringe of the City Centre, Bo-Kaap’s -formerly known as the Malay Quarter-, dates back to the 1760's, when numerous rental houses “huurhuisjes”; were built and leased to slaves brought from Malaysia, Indonesia and the rest of Africa to work in the Cape. It is a mix of Cape Dutch and Georgian Architecture. Houses were later repainted with bright colours by their owners as an expression of their freedom! Take a walk and discover these awe-inspiring colourful houses, explore the Cape Malays culture and cuisine or visit some of the art galleries to take a look at locally produced crafts.

Maiden's Cove is a beautiful scenic lookout point nestled between Clifton’s Beaches and Glen Beach. It is well known for; its exquisite views of the Twelve Apostles and Table Mountain, as well as its fabulous views of the Atlantic Ocean and Camps Bay beach. The Cove is also notorious for its braai/barbecue areas. Maiden’s Cove has a lush grassy area, massive boulders, perfect for a braai, picnic or sunset watching. Dolphins can often be spotted frolicking in the water; it’s also fantastic for whale watching (June-November). Inhale the fresh sea breeze of the Atlantic Ocean and capture a few memorable photographs of this idyllic spot.
