After discovering Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods like Alfama, Baixa, and Bairro Alto, we’ll head to the charming seaside town of Cascais. During our tuk tuk tour, we will take a break at the imposing Cathedral of the See, one of Lisbon’s oldest and most iconic monuments. This magnificent cathedral, built in the 12th century, combines Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles and carries with it centuries of history. Upon arrival, our guide will share fascinating curiosities about the foundation of the See and its curiosities.
At the Miradouro das Portas do Sol, you'll have one of Lisbon's most stunning views. This stop allows you to contemplate the unique panorama over the red roofs of Alfama, the oldest neighborhood in the city, and the majestic River Tejo in the background. Here, our local guide will give you a detailed explanation about Alfama and what's around it. The guide will also highlight monuments visible from the viewpoint, such as the National Pantheon and the Church of São Vicente de Fora, explaining the significance of these landmarks in the history of Lisbon.
At this stop, you will have the opportunity to visit the Miradouro da Nossa Senhora do Monte, one of the tallest and most impressive in Lisbon. With breathtaking panoramic views, the miradour offers a privileged view of the city, ranging from the Castle of São Jorge to the River Tejo, passing through the Baixa Pombalina and the iconic 25th of April Bridge. Here, our local guide will share the history of this special place, from the chapel of St. Gens to the importance of the viewpoint for the Portgues during the conquest of the city.
