About Fosshotel Eastfjords

Fáskrúðsfjörður, on the east coast of Iceland is renowned for its magnificent nature and landscape. It is a historic building built in 1903 and used as a hospital for French fishermen until 1939, when the house was disassembled and moved. In 2008 it was decided to reassemble the house at its original location. The hotel includes a museum devoted to the French fishermen and a French inspired restaurant, L'Abri.

Great stay in such a scenic location
Well maintained facility, Excellent breakfast. We had the cod dinner and it was excellent but a little expensive. Friendly staff at reception and restaurant. Really beautiful location on the fjord with a background of mountains and icefields. We saw the French Museum, and the World War II Museum ...

Best service
We stayed for 1 night, service at the restaurant was very warm & welcoming. We had lunch & dinner during our stay. Food was so good, great option for plant based meals. We highly recommend! Ps. Don’t miss the museum at the reception & the underground passage below.

Perfect location and room and helpful staff
Very comfortable and good-size room in a historical building. Staff very responsive and helpful.Very large and nice international Breakfast. Perfect location to explore spots around the east fjords. Highly reccomanded
