Things To Know
- If foreign customers wish to rent a vehicle from Chih Hang Car Rental, please note that this service is only available for foreigners with long-term residency in Taiwan. Customers must present their original passport, Taiwan driver's license, Taiwan Resident Certificate, original driver's license from their home country, and a credit card (valid for at least 6 months) on-site. Failure to provide these documents on-site will result in the inability to use car rental services. Refunds will not be granted (debit cards and UnionPay cards are not accepted)
- For Taiwanese nationals who wish to rent a vehicle, they must be at least 20 years old and are required to use a credit card for payment (valid for at least 6 months). We do not accept debit cards for payment. When you pick up the car, you must show a valid credit card (Visa/MasterCard) for pre-authorization. Please provide your Taiwan ID card and Taiwan driver’s license to apply for a car rental

Important Information
- How to Deal With Emergencies: Call 110 and notify Chih-Hang Car Rental or the rental office during the operating hours (0800-089-666, branch info). Details about insurance claims and other miscellaneous matters will be discussed after a statement has been taken by the police and designated personnel have reached the site where the emergency took place. Please refrain from settling with the other party on-site, failure to do so may result in compensation or legal liability. Please drive the vehicle with care. If the rented vehicle needs repair, the vehicle's original equipment manufacturer should be the only eligible repair agency
Surcharges
Mileage (fees to be paid on-site)
Regardless of the vehicle model, the mileage cap is 400 km per day. Exceeding the mileage cap will incur surcharges: Gasoline Car: NT$3/km; Diesel Car: NT$5/km; Electric Car: NT$20/km
Late Return (fees to be paid on-site)
* 1-Day rental = 24 hrs; please see below for late return fee. If a rental extension is needed, please notify the rental office before the original return time (request result is subject to the office)
A. 1+ hrs Late: A surcharge of 10% of the original rental fee per hr will incur (30+ mins = 1 hr)
B. 6+ hrs Late: A surcharge of 1-day rental rate will incur
** The insurance coverage is based on the number of rental days. If there will be a late return, you need to purchase another day of insurance coverage

Fuel costs (fees to be paid on-site)
When returning a car, the amount of fuel must be the same as that when pick-up. If the fuel amount is less than the pick-up amount, the renter has to make up for the price difference and pay a service fee of NT$300. Fuel Amount: The fuel bars missing (in liter) x Promulgated Gas Price

E-Tag (fees to be paid on-site)
When returning a car, the rental office can instantly calculate the total
Traffic citations and parking fees (fees to be paid on-site)
If the rental office receives mails or past due notices that indicate the renter did not pay the fees on his/her own, the payment responsibility will be transferred to the rightful renter in accordance with the contract
Cleaning fee
If there are any smells, stains, animal fur, or other residues left in the vehicle when returning, a cleaning fee of NT$3,000 will incur. In the event of any damages to the exterior or interior of a vehicle, the renter will be held responsible for compensation
One-way Rental (different drop-off)
Pricing is based on the picture above. If you need a one-way rental service, please make a request in the "Note" section when booking, fees to be paid on-site
Car Seat Rental
Each car seat is NT$200, to be paid on-site. If needed, please make a request in the "Requests & Remarks" section when booking. The number of car seat is limited and you can contact the store to confirm the availability

台東東海岸の旅
朝8時半にレンタカーを借りて、台東駅より北へ向けて出発。約1時間半で山仙台に到着。あいにくの雨と強風で海岸が荒れて景色もあまり良くなかった。橋の途中であきらめて帰りました。大変に残念です。海岸線から山に入り、富里や池上へ向かった。池上便当を食べて、その後台東駅まで向かう。約178キロのドライブ天気が良ければよかったのに。
