Kinkaku-ji also known as the Golden pavilion, is a renowned Zen Buddhist temple.Officially named Rokuon-ji, the temple is famous for its stunning top two floors that are completely covered in gold leaf. The temple has been built in 1397 as a retirement villa for shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, It was converted intoa Zen Temple after his death. The Temple has been burned down several times through history. The current structure dates back to 1955, following a reconstruction after the temple was set on fire by a monk in 1950.

Kiyomizu-dera is an iconic Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan, renowned for its wooden stage and historical significance. Here are some key details about kiyomizu- dera. Founded in 778, Kiyomizu-dera is one of the oldest temple in Kyoto. It was associated with the Hosso sect of Japanese Buddhism until it became independent in 1965. The name Kiyomizu- dera means Pure Water Temple, derived from the Otowa Waterfall, which runs through the temple grounds.
