Catedral de Puno
The Cathedral of Puno, designated as a Minor Basilica, was constructed in the 17th century and features a stunning façade sculpted by Simon de Asto. It is situated on the Fence of the Devil and was completed on May 25th, 1757. This impressive structure is a prime example of Spanish baroque architecture, incorporating Andean elements that provide it with a distinct mestizo character.
The Huajsapata Hill in Puno, Peru, is a historical and cultural landmark with a height of 4150 meters above sea level. It was a sacred place for the Collas people, who considered it a ceremonial and religious center. The Incas built a temple dedicated to the Sun God, and the Spanish constructed a church for the Virgin of the Candelaria, which is now a popular pilgrimage site. Arco Deustua
This monument, built in 1846, is situated three blocks away from the main street of Puno. It is constructed in honor of the Peruvian soldiers who valiantly fought in the Battle of Junin and Ayacucho. The monument features two roundabouts on either side and holds significant historical and moral value for the people of Peru.
