Our unique itinerary ensures you avoid the crowds by travelling in a reverse 'direction' missing the bus crowds and enjoying the softer morning light. We head straight to the 12 Apostles for a mid morning spectacle before exploring the coastline. On the way we drop in at a local 'Chocolate Farm' for Australian farm experience and some coffee or sweets. Your expert guide will take you down to the beach along the Loch Ard Gorge and explain the dramatic shipwreck story. Then we wind our way through Otway Ranges taking in a Rainforest walk before settling into our seaside cafe and enjoying a fresh, locally inspired gourmet lunch. After lunch we take you to one of the best ice-creameries in Australia. Afterwards traverse the Surfcoast Shire along the coastal road that meanders through beach towns and cliff edges, stopping at significant photo sights. along the way. You will discover our unique wildlife of wild Koala's in Kennet River and Kangaroo's at the Anglesea golf course.

View the iconic limestone stacks that rise 50 to 60 metres from the ocean floor and the sheer beauty of the region with its dramatic cliff edges.

Loch Ard Gorge

Walk down to the Gorge and hear about the heroic rescue of just two passengers - survivors of the tragic wreck of the Loch Ard.

Twelve Apostles

Take your time to wander out to the platform for spectacular views of these spectacular limestone stacks. Be amazed by their grandeur no matter what the weather conditions.

Melba Gully National Park

We avoid the crowds again by visiting a quieter, more tranquil part of the Otways for a short 15-20 minute walk amongst the rainforest. See ancient tree ferns and magnificent towering Eucalyptus trees (please note that this walk is optional).

Apollo Bay

Stop for a casual lunch featuring fresh, local produce before taking a beach walk if you're up to it otherwise wander the main street for a stop of retail therapy. If you are still hungry or hankering for a sweet delight, a stop at the local award-winning ice creamery is a must.

Kennet River Koala Walk

Take a back road to spot wild koalas in their natural habitat. These native Australian marsupials have a unique biology and diet - which your guide will happily explain to you.

Lorne

If there is time, take a short walk along the foreshore of this bustling seaside town, a hub of the Great Ocean Road, to watch local surfers and beachgoers.

Great Ocean Road Memorial Archway

We retell the story of how this magnificent road was built by returning serviceman from WW1 and how it was a visionary project in its day. Walk down to the beach for distant views of the lighthouse.

Going the reverse route is clearly the best way to go. Particularly so if Paul is your driver/guide. He was delightful. The drive is remarkably beautiful and incredibly diverse. Highly recommend

Steve was a great guide from the moment he picked us up at our hotel. By going in reverse we avoided the congested sites from tour buses and vans.
