I was walking downtown in Iquitos, Peru, when I saw this older lady selling her crafts. It caught my attention the way how she sat holding her legs towards her as if subconsciously she was trying to hold her whole existence together. I approached her and I gave her some money in exchange for some pictures of her. Confused, she agreed. This picture reminds me of the strength and fragility of human existence. This lady called Emma, at ninety two, she still was fighting. Her quiet strength was worthy of my admiration.
