Day1: Marrakech-Imlil -Tizi Mzik (2484m) Tizi Oussem (1850m) After breakfast in Marrakech, pick up & drive towards the Atlas Mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya & Asni. Arrival to Imlil (65km from Marrakech), meet the trekking crew have a cup of mint tea for the welcoming. Then start the trek towards Azzaden via Tizi Mzik (2684m), spectacular view over Imlil valley including several nighbouring high Atlas Peaks, Lunch will be served right at the top of the pass, after lunch a downhill walk to the Azzaden valley through juniper forest to get to Tizi Oussem village. Overnight at the gite. 6 hrs walking. DAY2: Tizi Oussem (1850m) -Tizi Oudid (2100m) -Marrakech After breakfast, enjoy the sunshine on this colorful valley with its marvelous typical Berber villages, leave Tizi Oussem & continue down to Id Issa, before heading up to Tizi Oudid mountain pass (2000m), cross Matat after a wild juniper forest, get lunch under walnut groves and relax near the river. Transfer back to Marrakech.
You will be picked up by our driver and begin our journey to the High Atlas mountains. Our first stop will be a peaceful place where you'll be dressed in traditional Berber clothes and enjoy a camel ride. Next we'll drive to a women's argan oil cooperative where there will be a bread & oil tasting with Moroccan tea. Next stop will be Imlil (altitude 1740 m), the picturesque and lively valley which will be the starting point of our hike. It is a nice place with a fast flowing river, walnut trees and very traditional Berber villages dotted throughout. From here we will start our 2 1/2-hour walk with a leisurely stop at my charming home where you can take in the stunning view from my rooftop terrace while you enjoy a delicious Berber lunch prepared lovingly by our mothers. After lunch we'll continue our walk through the Berber villages and pass by a spectacular waterfall, after which we will find our car waiting to drive us back to Marrakech (back in the city at approximately 5:30pm).
