Day1: Marrakech-Imlil -Tizi Mzik (2484m) Tizi Oussem (1850m) After breakfast in Marrakech, pick up & drive towards the Atlas Mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya & Asni. Arrival to Imlil (65km from Marrakech), meet the trekking crew have a cup of mint tea for the welcoming. Then start the trek towards Azzaden via Tizi Mzik (2684m), spectacular view over Imlil valley including several nighbouring high Atlas Peaks, Lunch will be served right at the top of the pass, after lunch a downhill walk to the Azzaden valley through juniper forest to get to Tizi Oussem village. Overnight at the gite. 6 hrs walking. DAY2: Tizi Oussem (1850m) -Tizi Oudid (2100m) -Marrakech After breakfast, enjoy the sunshine on this colorful valley with its marvelous typical Berber villages, leave Tizi Oussem & continue down to Id Issa, before heading up to Tizi Oudid mountain pass (2000m), cross Matat after a wild juniper forest, get lunch under walnut groves and relax near the river. Transfer back to Marrakech.

Itinerary

A part of this two day trek leads across the Ouirgane National Park. Ouirgane area is significant with red color, its slopes are covered with juniper trees and dotted with traditional flat – roofed houses made of stone. One of the villages has a big hamam (steam bath), which can be visited as a part of the trekking route. The big waterfall is one of the highlights of this hike. This trek offers a chance to experience a Berber way of living, eat local tajine and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains.

Additional Information

We can pick up the custmer from the reception area of their accommodation or from the airport, if their riad is not acces by we advice to be contaced through the email 1 day before the tour start to confirm the meeting point.

Meeting / End Points

  • If you are staying inside the Medina and your riad is not acces by car we ask to meet outside the Cafe de france which is at the big square of Jemaa el Fna.

The hike was absolutely fantastic. The trip took us through many different valleys and a cosy overnight stay in very comfortable accomodation. Their hospitality was second to none and the guide was so knowledgeable. We learnt so much about the land and how the local spend their time there. Can't ...
