The mission of Belogradchik Fortress was to control the road from the town of Ratsiaria (nearby today’s village of Archar, in the region of Vidin). The Romans constructed the highest part of the fortress, called The Citadel.

Undoubtedly, the Belogradchik rocks are one of the unique natural phenomena not only in Bulgaria and Europe, but also on a global scale.

It’s a long car journey but worth it! Guide was really informative, friendly and approachable. Very good level of English too! Lots of interesting spots and breathtaking views! Would recommend A++

Pretty impressive. Not all that easy to reach, unless you have car, or book a tour from Vidin, but looks like the photos. I am 69, and while it not entirely easy for me to reach the top level, neither was it too difficult, and the view was worth it.
