La Croix-Rousse is a hill 254 metres (833 ft) high in the city of Lyon, France, as well as the name of a neighborhood located on this hill. The neighborhood is divided into les pentes (slopes, belonging to the city's 1st arrondissement) and le plateau (atop the hill, part of the 4th arrondissement). The name "La Croix-Rousse" ('the russet/red cross') comes from a reddish-brown stone cross erected there in the 16th century.

The Jardin des Chartreux is a Lyon park of about one hectare. Located in the 1st arrondissement of Lyon on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse, it is crossed by the passage Gonin, pedestrian path, which connects the course of General Giraud, that the garden runs between the rise of Muette and the place Rouville, at St. Vincent's wharf.

Colline de Fourviere

Fourvière is a district of Lyon, France, a hill immediately west of the old part of the town, rising from the river Saône. Fourviere is the site of the original Roman settlement of Lugdunum (43 BC). On the south side of Fourvière are the vast ruins of Roman Baths, partially intact ruins of a Roman Theatre (15 BC) and a 2nd Century Roman Odéon rediscovered in the 20th century and now home to a museum as well as a series of concerts and operas throughout the summer.

Amphitheater of the Three Gauls

The Amphitheatre of the Three Gauls (French: Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules) of Lugdunum (Lyon) was part of the federal sanctuary of the three Gauls dedicated to the cult of Rome and Augustus celebrated by the 60 Gallic tribes when they gathered at Lugdunum. In 1961, it was classified as monument historique.

Theatres Romains de Fourviere

The Ancient Theatre of Fourvière (French: Théâtre antique de Lyon) is a Roman theatre in Lyon, France. It was built on the hill of Fourvière, which is located in the center of the Roman city.
