Itinerary

Bucegi Mountains

To the east, the Bucegi Mountains have a very steep slope towards the popular tourist destinations in the Prahova Valley, such as Bușteni and Sinaia. At a higher elevation is the Bucegi Plateau, where wind and rain have turned the rocks into spectacular figures such as the Sphinx and Babele. The Bucegi is believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the God Zalmoxis resided in a cave.

Tranbucegi Road was inaugurated in 2013 and you can find it on the map as DJ 713. The portion accessible by car ends at Plaiul lui Păcală. From here you go on a foot hike to Babele. The route takes about an hour, an hour and a half depending on the physical condition and the number of stops

Crucea Caraiman

The Commemorative Cross to the Romanian Heroes of the First World War  is a monument built between 1926 and 1928 on Caraiman Peak at an altitude of 2,291 m located in the Bucegi Mountains of the Southern Carpathians. It has a height of 39.3 metres (129 ft) and the nearest town is Buşteni.  The name of the monument is "The Heroes' Cross", but it is popularly known as the "Cross on Caraiman".

I believe one of the must do hikes in Romania. Such a huge place to explore. You have to experience to start the hike from the parking spot if you are able to do so otherwise there is an option to take the cable car which shorten your overall experience. The team was very helpful and trustworthy....
