One of the most amazing trips to see the sunrise at the top of Mount Sinai and see the Moses Mountain and then return in the morning to visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine. The St Catherine is considered to be one of the oldest monasteries in the world, built-in 545 AD on the order of Empress Helen, mother of Emperor Constantine. The Monastery of Saint Catherine is located in South Sinai at a distance of 230 km from the city of Sharm el-Sheikh. The tour starts with picking up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh and drive for approx 3 hours to reach Mount Sinai, You will start trekking the mountain along with a professional bedouin guide. Trekking the mountain takes approx 3-4 hours. You will see the sunrise and then go down and visit the St. Catherine Monastery before heading back to Sharm El Sheikh.

Itinerary

Mount Sinai

Pick up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh and drive for 3 hours approx to mount Sinai. Upon arrival meet your Bedouin guide and start climbing the mountain approx 3 hours trekking. Upon arrival to the top see the sunrise.

Saint Catherine

After returning from Mount Sinai and seeing Moses mountain you will visit Saint Catherine Monastery. The Greek Orthodox Christian Monastery of St. Catherine is located at the foot of Mount Sinai (Mount Moses) and is about 1585 meters above sea level. This monastery is considered one of the oldest Christian monasteries, and in this place, the three monotheistic religions converged Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. There are now more than 20 monks in the monastery, where they live and worship regularly. The monastery library may be the oldest Christian libraries in existence today. This library contains more than 6 thousand manuscripts in different languages, including about six thousand manuscripts from the ancient world, and some of them are older than the monastery itself.

Très belle expérience par contre vous deve savoir qu il faut de très bon soulier de marche. Des vêtements chauds et des collations. C est ardu comme mont à grimper ..il faut être en forme La descente est aussi ardu... Mais l effort rst récompenser par la beauté de ce spectacle naturel...
