To conclude our visit, you will continue your journey to a sacred site associated with the international event "Epe-Ekpe". Originating from the Guens who settled in the lake region in 1663 after their arrival from Ghana in the 17th century, "Epe-Ekpe" is a ceremony marked by the taking of the sacred stone called "Kpessosso", which forms the central point of all the festivities. This celebration marks the start of the year for the Guin ethnic group. It does not have a fixed date, but is generally observed in September each year, although on rare occasions it can also take place in August.
