About Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge

This is an eco-boutique hotel, which was built between 2003 and 2008. The hotel combines quality and comfort in order to allow guest to experience and enjoy the cloud forest in its purest form. It is situated in the valley of San Gerardo de Dota, nearby guest can also find the Cerro de la Muerte with its 3480 meters (the second highest point in Costa Rica) and with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. The Bungalows have a modern interior designed and decorated with typical aspects of the Latin American culture.

Stayed 7 days and was sad to leave
We arranged for a 7 day all inclusive plan that included transportation from and to our hotel near San Jose. We had the Quetzal cabin (#8) that was the furthest, most private and most romantic spot with jacuzzi tub, floor to ceiling window views of the preserve and adjoining National Park. Here...

Stylish, v good restaurant, steep grounds at high altitude (=breathless!)

Interesting lodge but pick your cabin carefully
We came to see the quetzals and detoured to this area for that. Not many room choices- I think we got the only one available which was 8 (the quetzal bungalow).
