Bertha's Beach is recognised as a wetland area of international importance under the RAMSAR Convention, due to the diverse variety of wetland habitats and wildlife. It is one of only two in the Falklands. It is classified as a globally Important Bird Area by Birdlife International. After Bertha's Beach we head back towards Stanley and take a trip to nearby Gypsy Cove to see Magellanic penguins & stunning scenery. We will eat inside/outside the vehicle (weather dependent). Travel 20 minutes outside Stanley to see the typical Falklands landscape. Home to the largest King Penguin colony, the Falkland Islands has over 1200 breeding pairs and will introduce you to them! Volunteer Point is also home to numerous Gentoo and Magellanic penguins and a large variety of other bird life, and also boasts a long white sand-beach on which you can occasionally find a Sea Lion lurking. This is a semi-private tour for 4 people per vehicle (4x4 vehicle). We will be waiting you with a yellow sign with your name, we have yellow jackets and yellow signs. You will find us easily. Jeep departs one hour after the ship docks. Please do all that you can to get ashore quickly as it does make a difference.
This is a mini-van shuttle that can take up to sixteen passengers. You will be taken to Gypsy cove where you can see the magallanic penguins and enjoy the beautiful scenery. On the way you will pass The ship wreck Lady Eizabeth and the in famous totem pole. We will then travel to the city and see drive pass the main attractions, Christ Church Cathedral, Whale Bone Arch and Liberation Monument. This tour suits those who isn't keen on a long off road trip.
Come and experience the best of the Falklands! Travel by 4x4 vehicle with experienced tour guides on the wild tracks for 2 hours to the remote and untouched Kelp Point! We will first start with travelling by the coastline to find many Elephant Seals. You will be able to see these magnificent mammals in their natural habitat lazing around on the beach or fighting! A short ride and we will arrive to see the Gentoo penguins, where your guide will escort you to the colony. Here you can take majestic photos and selfies with them in the background! We will then stop to have a tasty lunch whilst watching the waddling penguins. After, we will take a walk along the beautiful white sand beach, taking a moment to enjoy the scenery before returning to Stanley. Your guide will take you around the capital's best attractions before dropping you off to return to the ship. A full day with lots of fresh air and wild encounters! Each vehicle will have a maximum of 4 people which may travel together.
